NAD+ Comparison

Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide — vendor rankings, research context, and COA verification guide.

⚠ Research Use Only — Not for human consumption

NAD+ (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide) is a ubiquitous coenzyme present in every living cell, serving as an essential electron carrier in metabolic redox reactions and as a substrate for key enzyme families involved in DNA repair, epigenetic regulation, and cellular stress responses. NAD+ levels decline with age, making it a primary focus in longevity and aging research.

What researchers study

NAD+ research in laboratory settings focuses on mitochondrial biogenesis and quality control in energy-intensive tissues, sirtuin-mediated stress responses and genomic stability mechanisms, PARP-dependent DNA repair dynamics following oxidative damage, and metabolic homeostasis and the balance between NAD+ consumption and recycling across organ systems. These studies contribute to understanding how NAD+ connects bioenergetic status with cellular adaptation pathways.

Unique sourcing requirements

NAD+ is more stability-sensitive than most research peptides and requires additional COA documentation. Beyond standard HPLC purity and mass spec identity, a legitimate NAD+ COA should include endotoxin (LPS) testing results, residual solvent analysis, and ideally accelerated stability data. NAD+ peptides degrade rapidly after reconstitution and should be used within 7–10 days when stored at 4°C. Long-term storage requires −20°C in lyophilized form.

Reconstitution guidance

NAD+ should not be reconstituted in standard phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) — reputable vendors specify pH 4.0 acetate buffer or 0.1% acetic acid solutions to prevent rapid degradation. This is a key differentiator between serious research vendors and lower-quality sources. Vendors that do not provide reconstitution guidance specific to NAD+ are a yellow flag.
